Zimbabwe’s eSports Association Calling For Sponsorship As Africa eSports Championship Inches Closer

This August Kenya will be hosting the first ever African eSports Championship. The tournament will see a number of players from 27 countries on the continent come together and battle it out for a top place in FIFA and Tekken.

Zimbabwe will be participating and eSports Zimbabwe is calling out sponsor who are willing to assist them in their bid. The statement made on the eSports Zim Twitter page read:

Last year we announced that Zimbabwe will be one of the twenty sseven countries to compete in the Africa Esports Championship 2019 and we calling out all sponsors.

The #AfricaEsportsChampionship is supported by passionate and dedicated personalities around Africa, working hand in hand as friends and stakeholders for the bussingof esports industry in Africa.

We got in touch with the founder of the association, Thomas Phiri and he said the funds being called for will be used for the following:

  1. Venue Hiring – to be used during the Zimbabwe National Finals (ZNF) by the participants and spectators.
  2. Generator and Fuel Hiring – to be used incase of power failure.
  3. Console hiring -We are going to hire Playstion 4 Pros as to smoothen the game performance and also to finish the qualifiers earlier.
  4. Accomodation – We going to have different gamers coming from different parts of the country (Zimbabwe) to come and battle for the Spot so we going to need accomodation to carter this gamers a day before the event a same night after event next morning they leave to their respective areas.
  5. Branded apparel -bags and swag that we can also give away to winners, participants and audience members.
  6. Plane Tickets – 1 Airplane Ticket for the Street fighter player ( Our main Sponsor is sponsoring (Accomodation, Flights, Food & Touring) for 4 delegates per country thus the country manager,Coach,1 Fifa Player & 1 Tekken Player. So as per agreement we have to carter for the Street Fighter player.
