Kwese To Televise All 64 FIFA World Cup Matches Live, ZBC Partners Kwese To Televise All Matches Too

After months of questioning whether Kwese will televise the upcoming 2018 Fifa World Cup, Kwese has cleared the air by announcing that it will broadcast all 64 FIFA World Cup matches live in Zimbabwe. The matches will be broadcasted on all its digital platforms that range from the Kwese satellite TV to mobile devices via its newly launched ‘Kwese-iflix’ mobile App ( we will tell you more on this App).

By broadcasting all matches, Kwese has proved it has what it takes to provide top-notch programs. And also the news will certainly dispel some doubts people had with Kwese regarding its capability of bringing the much-demanded programs like English Premier league and Champions league.

ZBC TV also too

Additionally and surprisingly all 64 FIFA World Cup matches will be broadcasted on ZBC TV through a partnership deal Kwese has struck with the local national broadcaster. This is good news for most Zimbabweans who don’t have Kwese devices and also those who are struggling to pay for subscriptions partly because of financial constraints. Not forgetting that a huge population in rural areas still depend on ZBC so they will be happy with this Kwese-ZBC partnership.

Speaking at a media launch in Harare, Head of Kwesé TV in Zimbabwe, Mrs. Dorothy Zimuto, said;

We are proud to announce that following our recent licensing for content distribution, webcasting, and video-on-demand, we will be bringing the best World Cup experience ever to Zimbabweans on all our Kwese platforms….We will bring you the best of the action through our Kwesé satellite service and through the Kwese TV Everywhere App that gives extended viewing on up to four mobile devices tethered to the satellite account)…Customers will also be able to catch all the World Cup action through our Kwese digital platforms, namely KweseESPN, and Kwesefied sites, through the Kwese-Free-to-Air Service (FTA) on local TV, via the national broadcaster ZBC

    At some point some of these games will be played simultaneously how is ZBC going to do this. Choose an “African” game to broadcast live like they have done in decades and broadcast the others as delayed. Nxa! I have gone back kuSuper Sport for this period because they are more reliable

      Problem all this journalist have done a lazy job , Free to air rights according to FIFA are only 32 game’s live, the rights holders for those exclusively in sub Sahara excluding south Africa are kwese TV, so what kwese has done is sub licensed free to air rights to 35 broadcasters across Africa including zbc

      As for pay TV rights in Africa excluding SA , the rights are non exclusive and it’s all 64 matches

      On kwese , DStv, startimes and canal +

    You cannot just assume that a lot of rural people rely on ZBC – your assumption would work on radio but not on TV. To test your assumption: go to the rural areas and talk about football – both domestic & international. You would be surprised that these people know more about EPL or Champions League than our own domestoc league. If l may ask: what do you know about Nichrut? Or conduct a survey on who listens/views TV or radio. My point is don’t just make assumptions, give us statistics to back up what you are writing about
