flying-happyNeed a dose of happiness? If this Happy parody won’t do it, we don’t know what will. And if the views are anything to go by, it’s sure has Zimbabweans every happy to click and watch Harare being happy! Published on YouTube just yesterday, the video already has 12,433  13,539 views (in the time I took to watch it and write this article it’s added another 1,000 views).

We may be wrong, but as far as we can tell this is the most viral Zimbabwean video ever posted to YouTube. if you know any other, educate us in the comments!

The video is a parody of Pharrell Williams’s cheerful and catchy “Happy”. The song has been parodied world over by ordinary people who then post the videos to YouTube. This local parody was made by URBANSPACE and Media Matrix, a local film production company.

Here’s the video:

    Nice video!

Mbichana Boys – Mbichana Mvura Got 39,223 Views and their other videos did very well too.. So it does beat Happy Harare but that can change in just a few hours if it really goes viral

Mbichana Boys, its 39,237 after 2 years. Pah Chihera’s Runonzi Rudo stands at 322,439 after 8 months. But from the rate at which this video is being viewed. I foresee it surpassing Runonzi Rudo soon.

        Wow, Runonzi Rudo is impressive!

  3. Drogo

The best video from local content even though song parodies have existed for centuries in one form or another. I noticed when watching youtube videos they look super choppy and bad. I know its not my graphics card. Is there a way to fix this?

Nice video… although we may need to have a serious debate about the threshhold we can call a video “viral”…. 🙂

    1. beatnyama

This falls very nicely within the definition of viral. It has been shared across a number of platforms, blogs and websites. Its views have jumped from literally 0 to 85grand is 4 days

As defined by the big G
A viral video is a video that was created and becomes popular through the process of Internet sharing, typically through video sharing websites, social media and email.
