HMetro website down, again

Staff Writer Avatar

For the second time this month, the HMetro website is down. The state owned tabloid famous for sensational articles and photography of Harare’s social life has been down for some several days now.  The Website is just the online version of a popular print newspaper.

Visiting the website, one is presented with the following message from the website’s hosting company.

It’s not clear why the site has been suspended but it’s usually a sign of compromise or, in rare cases that there are payment issues between the hosts and Zimpapers. The later is highly unlikely; web hosting is not an expensive service at all for an organisation the size of Zimpapers. The former, more likely as the website suffered a phishing attack early this month.

And dailynews is NOT accessible this morning…. giving error below…whats happening?

Website Offline, No Cached Version AvailableThe website you are trying to access is currently offline. The most likely causes are the server is down for maintenance, there may be a network problem, or the site may be experiencing excessive load. The site uses CloudFlare in order to help keep it online when the server is down by serving cached copies of pages where they are available. Unfortunately, a cached copy of the page you requested is not available, but you may be able to reach other cached pages on the site.If you continue to receive this error after you believe the site is back online, you can retry a live version of the site
